APPLE PAY的專利討論

APPLE PAY最近在台灣開通,看來頗為新奇,其實就是一個老技術:行動支付,只是大家各有巧妙,APPLE PAY還不是最厲害的(有空找一下"空付"...),只是將來就比誰方便(設定與支付動作簡化)、安全性(不能被駭)、可倚賴性(不能偶爾失效)、市佔比(多數商店支援,最好夜市也可以),也一定是大者恆大(這廢話)。
果粉的忠誠度與裝置單一性(就iPhone幾隻)來看,APPLE PAY絕對會成功。而且,APPLE這幾年向來只會被自己新產品策略性打敗,少被人打敗。

編按:以上是我的前言,我從沒擁有任何一支iPhone,曾經有過的手機多數是等別人淘汰的手機,這樣,有可能也會等到iPhone。(編按,updated on Aug. 17, 2023,今年等到iPhone XS,在此順便更正本篇名稱,竟然寫錯了6年)

如果這是Apple的重要戰略,顯然專利等相關智慧財產的佈局不會少,也不用等我找,一定很多人在看了,這裡僅提出一點點筆記。

看了半天的蘋果有關支付的專利,佈局不少,而且多國佈局,專利不脫有幾個特徵:手機、生物特徵、指紋、NFC與使用者介面,雖有早於2010年的專利,但若是針對Apple Pay,大約是2014年開始佈局。



「商標」一定有,然後就是「使用者介面」,UI是蘋果技術的核心之一,可以用實用專利(utility patent)與設計(design)佈局。
